Amazon Dash

What is Amazon Dash?

Looks the Internet of Things (IoT) is here to stay if we go by Amazon’s new idea. The Amazon Dash button seems to be a proof of this. The Dash button, an IoT device, is designed to automatically place orders of supplies on your behalf that you are running short of. The device functions as simple as scanning barcodes and speech recognition.

The Dash Button is simple to set up. Using the Amazon app on your smartphone, you connect to your home WiFi network and select the product you would like to reorder with the Amazon Dash Button. Once connected, a single press of the Dash button automatically places your order. Amazon will send an order alert to your phone via it’s App, so it’s easy to cancel if you change your mind. That’s it! Your ordered products will be delivered to your doorstep.

Amazon Dash Helps You Work Smarter

The Wi-Fi-enabled Dash device is tiny in size and features a single button, a brand logo, and an adhesive strip so that you can stick it where you wish to use it. The functioning of the device is simple – you need to be an Amazon Prime member with address and credit card information saved on the retailer’s website.

The device frees you to spend time and energy doing other things rather than sticking to your mobile or personal computer for half an hour to explore the Amazon website, find the required product, save it to your shopping cart, place the order, and make the payment. With Amazon Dash, you are just one step away from placing an order – all you need to do is connect the device to the required product and the rest will be taken care of by software. It’s great for ordering products that you would normally get from the store anyway.

Truly, Amazon’s Dash device seems to be a smarter choice to cut short the complete cycle of placing an order, using a product, and re-purchasing when you are running out. Amazon has included 248 products in its Dash button, including some of the most essential household items that you would never want to be completely out of.

Some will say that Amazon Dash will take over sales of some Subscription eCommerce Products. What is Subscription eCommerce?

Bottom Line

With the Amazon Dash button, you no longer need to spend time on assessing, placing orders, and acquiring products you use on a daily basis(or not) and have to order or get from the store anyway. For now it’s one step closer to talking to your house to order essentials!
